74% qualify 11th exams

The Board of School Education (BOSE) Wednesday declared result of11th standard examination of Kashmir division in which 74 percent students qualified it.
A total number of 49,749 candidates were enrolled for the exams including 25840 boys and 23,909 girl students had appeared for the examinations.
BOSE officials said that a total of 74 percent 11th standard candidates qualified the exam that includes 73 percent boys (18,866) and 76 percent (18,090)girl students.
However, 12,739 students could not qualify the exams.
According to BOSE figures, at least 27 students who had appeared for the exams were having disputed eligibility, one students were caught with unfair means, exam was cancelled of two candidates, 7 were disqualified and 65 candidates were absent.
Among the total of 49749candidates, 9896 students bagged distinction, 16,856 qualified withfirst division; 8939 with second division and 1265 students qualify the exams with third division.
According to JKBOSE, 12,105students got to reappear and 688 students failed to qualify the exams.
BOSE officials said that the students achieved 100 percent results in nine subjects.
Among all subjects 100 percent results were from English Literature, Hindi, Punjabi, Kashmiri, Home Science, Electronics, Bio-Chemistry, Travel Tourism and Hotel Management and Public Administration.
Pertinently, the results of 11th standard were declared after more than two months.
The exams commenced in the month of October-2019 and culminated in the second week of November.
In past, the exams of 11th standard were being conducted by the respective school authorities. However, since 2018, the exams are now being conducted by the BOSE administration.
