Com Sec L&ED reviews progress of various schemes

Commissioner Secretary, Labour & Employment Department, Saurabh Bhagat, Thursday toured Budgam district and reviewed the physical and financial achievements registered under various schemes of the department.

He also visited the site of Employment & Counseling Centre of Kashmir Province at Bemina, Srinagar and inspected the ongoing construction work there. The Rs.10.30 crore complex shall be housing the Directorate of Employment Office Srinagar, Office of Joint Director Employment, Kashmir, besides District Employment & Counseling Centre, Srinagar.

This shall serve as the Nodal Counseling Centre of the Kashmir Province where the Career Counseling Cum Guidance to the Youth of Kashmir shall be provided by the expert Counselors of International repute and the counseling cell of the Department.

Saurabh Bhagat directed the Superintending Engineer R&B to prepare a DPR for sister complex at the available land there to house the office of Labour Commissioner, J&K and CEO Secretary, J&K BOCWWB, so that all the HODs of Labour and Employment Department is put under one roof for the public good.

Commissioner Secretary also stressed upon the executing agency to complete the construction work well before the targeted date of completion.

He was accompanied by Labour Commissioner J&K A. R. War, Joint Director Employment, Kashmir, Syed Shabir, Superintending Engineer, PWD, Nayeem Ahmad besides other officers and officials of various Departments.

Ensure cent percent coverage of KCC, PM-KISAN : DC Gbl

Ganderbal, July 9: The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal Thursday directed all the stakeholders to ensure cent percent coverage of farmers under KCC and PM-Kissan schemes besides activation of all inactive KCC accounts during Kissan Pakhwada.

The DC issued these directions during a meeting to review the progress of activities undertaken since the launch of Kissan Pakhwada.

The meeting held threadbare discussions on various activities to be carried out during Kissan Pakhwada in the district and strategies to be adopted for successful implementation of welfare schemes of agriculture and allied wings.

It was informed in the meeting that two mega Kissan mela will be organized during Kissan Pakhwada at Madri Meharban stadium Ganderbal and Dak Bungalow Kangan.

The Chief Agriculture Officer informed the DC that at least five camps are held per day with active participation of the farmer community and PRIs at different locations of the district.

The DC urged the concerned officers to ensure SOPs and all guidelines related to COVID-19 including social distancing, wearing of face masks besides availability of hand sanitizers are followed like during the mela.

He also instructed the concerned to ensure exhibition of farm machinery, fruit and vegetable seeds at stalls besides making available literature about all schemes for the benefit of farmers during the mela.

The DC directed the Lead Bank Manager to ensure all the cases related to KCC, as facilitated by the agriculture and other allied departments, are processed within the shortest possible time.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Farooq Ahmad Baba, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, AD Fisheries, District sheep Husbandry Officer, Lead bank Manager and other concerned officials.
