COVID-19: 11 more die in JK, toll rises to 407

JK’s infection count crosses 22,000 mark
Over 900 persons discharged in 24 hours

 Eleven more persons died of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours taking the death toll in J&K to 407 while 590 fresh cases were reported on Monday, officials said.
As per the government, nine of the 11 deaths were reported from Kashmir which includes five from Srinagar, two from Anantnag, and one each from Baramulla and Ganderbal while Jammu division reported two deaths.
With the 11 fresh casualties, the death toll due to the novel coronavirus has soared to 407 in J&K, which includes 377 from Kashmir and 30 from Jammu.
So far, Srinagar has reported 135 deaths, Baramulla 72, Kulgam 29, Budgam 28, Anantnag 26, Shopian 23, Pulwama 22, Kupwara 21, Bandipora 14 and Ganderbal seven.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has reported 21 deaths, Doda and Rajouri two each, and Udhampur, Kathua, and Samba one each.
On Monday, J&K witnessed 590 fresh coronavirus cases which includes 433 from Kashmir and 157 from Jammu pushing the total infection tally to 22,006.
Today’s cases include 180 from Srinagar, 72 from Jammu, Ganderbal 56, Budgam 39, Bandipora 36, Anantnag 35, Ramban 24, Baramulla 23, Pulwama and Udhampur 14 each, Kathua 12, Kulgam and Rajouri 11 each, Samba and Kishtwar eight each, Reasi seven, and Shopian six.
The government said of the total 6,62,941 test results available, 6,40,935 returned negative and 22,006 positive which include 7567 active positive cases while 14,032 have recovered and been discharged including 905 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.
It said, so far, 3,74,160 persons had been put under observation including 45,286 in home quarantine, 7567 in hospital isolation while 41,640 people are under home surveillance and 2,79,260 persons have completed their surveillance period.
In Kashmir, Srinagar has a total of 5333 cases followed by Baramulla with 1954, Pulwama 1614, Kulgam 1523, Shopian 1474, Anantnag 1374, Budgam 1336, Kupwara 1141, Bandipora 815, and Ganderbal 490.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has 1259 cases, Rajouri 720, Ramban 574, Udhampur 555, Kathua 547, Samba 446, Doda 292, Poonch 234, Reasi 170, and Kishtwar 155.
