With 536 fresh cases, infection tally approaches 27,000
Eleven persons died of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours taking the number of casualties in J&K to 509 while 536 fresh cases were reported on Thursday, officials said.
As per the government, the fresh casualties include three from Srinagar, two from Budgam, and one each from Baramulla, Pulwama, Kupwara, Ganderbal, Jammu and Doda.
With the fresh casualties, the death toll due to the novel coronavirus has soared to 509 in J&K, which includes 470 from Kashmir and 39 from Jammu.
So far, Srinagar has reported 163 deaths, Baramulla 86, Budgam 38, Anantnag 35,
Pulwama 33, Kulgam and Kupwara 31 each, Shopian 24, Bandipora 18, and Ganderbal 11.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has reported 27 deaths, Rajouri three, Doda, Poonch and Udhampur two each, and Ramban, Kathua, Samba one each.
J&K reported 536 fresh coronavirus cases on Thursday which include 438 from Kashmir and 98 from Jammu, pushing the total infection tally to 26,949.
Today’s cases include Srinagar 144, Bandipora 54, Jammu 49, Baramulla and Kupwara 46 each, Ganderbal 41, Budgam 36, Pulwama 33, Anantnag 16, Reasi 15, Kulgam 14, Kathua 10, Shopian, Samba eight each, Poonch five, Rajouri, Ramban, Doda three each, Udhampur and Kishtwar one each.
The government said of the 7,63,211 test results available, 7,36,262 returned negative and 26,949 positive which include 7138 active positive cases while 19,302 have recovered and been discharged including 779 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.
It said, so far, 4,06,537 persons had been put under observation including 42,231 in home quarantine and 7138 in isolation while 48,554 people are under home surveillance and 3,08,105 persons have completed their surveillance period.
In Kashmir, Srinagar has a total of 6577 cases, followed by Baramulla with 2303, Pulwama 1983, Anantnag 1680, Budgam 1677, Kulgam 1674, Shopian 1545,
Kupwara 1394, Bandipora 1251, and Ganderbal 815.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has 1776 cases, Rajouri 774, Kathua 636,
Udhampur 634, Ramban 619, Samba 541, Doda 327, Poonch 310, Reasi 257, and Kishtwar 176.
