Five more persons died of COVID-19 in Kashmir during the past 24 hours, taking the death toll in J&K to 133, officials said Monday.
A 56-year-old coronavirus positive man from Kralpora, Budgam, suffering from hypertension, bilateral community-acquired pneumonia died at SKIMS Srinagar.
Medical Superintendent SKIMS, Dr Farooq Jan said the patient was sick and on dialysis.
He said the man died at 7 am.
A 55-year-old man from Boniyar area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district suffering from cardiac illness also died at the institute.
Similarly, a 90-year-old man from Baramulla died at the Chest Disease Hospital.
The deceased was admitted there on June 26 and died in the wee hours on Monday.
As per the medicos, the man was suffering from multiple ailments including hypertension and bilateral pneumonia.
According to the government, Srinagar also reported two more coronavirus deaths during the past 24 hours.
In J&K, Srinagar has the highest number of coronavirus deaths and positive cases followed by Baramulla, Kulgam, Shopian, and Anantnag.
With the five fresh casualties, the deaths toll due to the coronavirus has soared to 138 in J&K that include 124 from Kashmir and 14 from Jammu.
According to the government, Srinagar has witnessed 33 deaths, Baramulla 26, Kulgam 16, Shopian 13, Anantnag 11, Budgam 10, Jammu eight, Kupwara seven, Pulwama four, Bandipora three, Doda two, and Ganderbal, Udhampur, Kathua, Poonch, and Rajouri one each.
