COVID-19: JK witnesses major spike of 23 deaths, toll 1024

With 1036 cases, JK toll rises to 65,026

 J&K recorded the highest single-day spike of 23 COVID-19 deaths during the past 24 hours, taking the number of casualties to 1024 while 1036 fresh cases were witnessed on Monday, taking the total infection count to 65,026, officials said.
As per the government, the fresh casualties include 14 from Jammu division and nine from Kashmir division.
With the fresh casualties, the death toll due to novel coronavirus has soared to 1036 in Jammu Kashmir, which include 778 from Kashmir and 246 from Jammu.
So far, Srinagar has reported 268 deaths, Baramulla 116, Budgam 78, Pulwama 63, Kupwara 61, Anantnag 59, Kulgam 43, Bandipora 34, Shopian 30, and Ganderbal 26.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has reported 138 deaths, Rajouri 26, Doda 20, Kathua 15, Samba 12, Udhampur 10, Poonch nine, Ramban six, and five each from Kishtwar and Reasi.
On Monday, J&K reported 1036 fresh coronavirus cases, which include 563 from Jammu and 473 from Kashmir division, pushing the total infection tally to 65,026.
The government said of the total 14,15,364 test results available, 13,50,338 returned negative and 65,026 positive which include 21,887 active positive cases while 42,115 have recovered and been discharged including the 1158 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.
It said, so far, 5,48,355 persons had been put under observation including 27,819 in home quarantine and 21,887 in isolation while 61,819 people are under home surveillance and 4,35,806 persons have completed their surveillance period.
In Kashmir, Srinagar has a total of 13,199 cases, Budgam 4424, Baramulla 3923, Pulwama 3588, Anantnag 3288, Kupwara 3221, Bandipora 3177, Ganderbal 2616,
Kulgam 2188, and Shopian 1936.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has a total of 10,422 cases, Rajouri 2152, Udhampur 1827, Kathua 1753, Doda 1745, Samba 1448, Poonch 1380, Ramban 1092, Kishtwar 881, and Reasi 766.
