COVID-19:20 die, JK toll rises to 1125

With 1217 cases, JK’s infection count surpasses 70,000 mark

Twenty more COVID-19 patients have died in the past 24 hours, taking the number of casualties in J&K to 1125 while Saturday reported 1217 fresh cases, taking the total infection count to 71,049, officials said.
As per the government, the fresh casualties include 12 from Kashmir division and eight from Jammu division.
With the fresh casualties, the death toll due to novel coronavirus has soared to 1125 in Jammu Kashmir, which include 819 from Kashmir and 306 from Jammu.
So far, Srinagar has reported 285 deaths, Baramulla 121, Budgam 81, Pulwama 67, Kupwara 65, Anantnag 62, Kulgam 43, Bandipora 36, Shopian 31, and Ganderbal 28.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has reported 164 deaths, Rajouri 30, Doda 26, Kathua 21, Samba 19, Udhampur 14, Poonch 12, Ramban eight, Kishtwar seven and Reasi five.
On Saturday, J&K reported 1217 fresh coronavirus cases, which include 720 from Jammu and 497 from Kashmir division, pushing the total infection tally to 71,047.
The government said of the total 15,39,284 test results available, 14,68,235 returned negative and 71,049 positive which include 18,430 active positive cases while 51,494 have recovered and been discharged including the 1937 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.
It said, so far, 5,66,602 persons had been put under observation including 16,811 in home quarantine and 18,430 in isolation while 50,232 people are under home surveillance and 4,80,004 persons have completed their surveillance period.
In Kashmir, Srinagar has a total of 14,204 cases, Budgam 4703, Baramulla 4215, Pulwama 3817, Kupwara 3450, Anantnag 3444, Bandipora 3319, Ganderbal 2819,
Kulgam 2244, and Shopian 2000.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has a total of 11,688 cases, Rajouri 2464, Doda 2107, Udhampur 2089, Kathua 1934, Poonch 1670, Samba 1627, Ramban 1273, Kishtwar 1105, and Reasi 877.
