Rising Kashmir NewsSrinagar:
Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) Tuesday staged protest demonstration here at Lal Chowk against the killing of civilians and use of force on people in which dozens of civilians got injured in South Kashmir's Shopian and Kulgam district.
The protest was led by Co- Chairman of KEA Farooq Ahmed Dar.
KEA members raised pro-Kashmir slogans and demanded end to the killings of civilians security forces during a protest at Ghanta Ghar (Clock Tower) in Lal Chowk.
The protesting traders raised slogans “Kashmiriyoon ka qatl-e-aam bandh karo” (Stop genocide of Kashmiris) and “Sarkari deshadgardi band karo” (Stop State-sponsored terrorism).
Taking note of civilian killings in Kashmir, Farooq Dar termed it a ‘deep-rooted conspiracy by Indian forces to expunge Muslim population’ here.
While reiterating that state of Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed territory, he impressed upon International Community to come forward for the solution of this long pending dispute.
Referring to South Kashmir killings Dar said seven people were killed and dozens injured in South Kashmir in two days which is highly condemnable.
He said it should be stopped immediately.
“I would request Indian Civil Societies and intellectuals to impress Indian government to stop the use of force on civilians in Kashmir,” Dar impressed.
Dar also appealed United Nations and Amnesty International to play vital role in discontinuation of the genocide of Kashmiris and solution of the issue.
He criticized government forces and said Kashmiri children are given bullets, interrogated and pellets are used to maim them by the forces without showing any concern for human rights and children rights in Kashmir.
“We would not bear killings and atrocities on people. If India does not stop atrocities in Kashmir it would have bad outgrowth. Then we have to come out on roads. Although I represent the business community, it is our moral as well as social responsibility to protest against the killings at the hands of forces in Kashmir,” Dar said.
He said if India claims that it is world’s largest democracy then why Kashmiri are particularly targeted by its forces rather than giving them their ‘rights’? Why the same yardstick is not used to deal with people all over the India and intense force is used to deal with people here, he asked. Among Others Haji Nisar Ahmed,Javid Ahmed Zerger and others were present in Protest.
