A demolition drive was launched by the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority under the supervision of Enforcement Officer in the area of Lashkari Mohalla, Koshipora Teilbal, and Hyderya colony Shalimar on Monday in which 3 illegal constructions/structures which included concrete columns, single storey and concrete block, which were raised illegally were demolished on spot.
“One service station was also demolished. Moreover, Illegal earth filling at two spots were also removed and seized on spot which was dumped in the area of Batpora Teilbal. During the anti-encroachment drive, there was stiff resistance from the miscreants in the area of Koshipora Teilbal in which stones were hurled on the demolition squad which conducting the demolition. Some members of the demolition team got injured in the area,” LAWDA said.
LAWDA said that amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, when there is lockdown everywhere the miscreants are taking undue advantage and indulging in illegal constructions but all such miscreants will not be allowed for any sort of violation and raising of illegal constructions/encroachments.
LAWDA has requested the public residing within the LDA jurisdiction be informed and that not to go for any sort of illegal constructions /encroachments.
