On the eve of Constitution Day KU's Leh Campus organised two day celebrations with great reverence, a KU statement said.
On this occasion, Chemet Yurgyal, Incharge, Chief Judicial Magistrate, District Court, UT Ladakh, was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion Chemit Yurgyal said Government of India had declared 26th November as "Constitution Day "and PM Modi had made the declaration in this regard on 11th October 2015 while laying the foundation stone of B.R. Ambedkar memorial in Mumbai .
He further emphasized that the golden message embedded in the making of the constitution is patience and unanimity. He further added that its openness to differences and diversities is unique.
Mohammad Shafi Lasoo, President,Bar Association, District Court Leh, UT Ladakh in his emphatic lecture enlightened the students about the rights and duties of the students in context with the constitution of India.
The event was embarked with oath ceremony in which students of Leh Campus, teaching and non-teaching staff members of the Campus took pledge to the fundamental duties followed by reading out of the preamble which was followed by a painting competition.
Chemit Yurgyal distributed the prizes to the position holders of the painting competition. Sonam Angmo, A.P.,Department of MTTM, presented vote of thanks on the occasion.
Prof. Farooq Ahmad Khan, Rector, Satellite Campus, Leh formally welcomed the guests and threw light on the contribution of great men who worked tirelessly to give India her constitution and sensitize the people regarding the exalted values and precepts enshrined in it.
