LeT funding module busted, 3 arrested in B’pora: Police

 The Jammu and Kashmir Police Wednesday claimed to have arrested three militant associates who were found involved in militancy related funding activities.
According to the statement, police acting on a reliable information about proscribed militant organization LeT activating a module for carrying out activities in district Bandipora and Kupwara.
“Acting on the information police arrested 03 persons namely Irshad Ahmad Sheikh, Mohmad Junaid Wani and Raj Mohmad Khan and seized Rs 4 lakh cash, and other incriminating material from from their possession,” reads the statement.
The trio, police said, were in touch with their handlers in Pakistan administered Kashmir and had raised Rs.14 lakh out of which Rs.9 lakh have been distributed for financing militant activities in district Bandipora and Kupwara.
In this regard Case FIR No. 29/2020 under different sections of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) has been registered in PS Aragam and further investigation of the case is going on.
