Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) on Saturday said that it has always protected the interests of people of J&K, saying the party will continue to safeguard the genuine interests of people of J&K.
A meet of National Conference’s central zone was held at NC’s district headquarters Mujahid Manzil in Badgam on Saturday. As per NC spokesperson, the meet saw large participation of party functionaries, YNC delegates, Parent body members and other office bearers from district Srinagar, Badgam, and Ganderbal.
“On the occasion party’s north zone vice president Dr Sajad Shafi Uri, party’s district president Srinagar Pir Afaq, Provincial spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar, YNC vice president Ahsan Pardesi, Syed Tauqeer, GN Bhat addressed the meet,” party spokesperson said.
NC spokesperson said the speakers emphasized that NC will continue to follow the trail left behind by Sher e Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah.
“History has repeated itself yet again. The travesty that had unfolded after the illegitimate arrest and incarceration of Sheikh Sahib in 1953 has again besieged the political landscape of J&K. With the legitimate voices of j&k behind bars, the glove puppet politicians have surfaced yet again to help New Delhi in its face saving theatrics. These contemporary Bakshi’s, Sadiq’s And Mufti’s are out to compromise J&K’s prized individually and unique character,” one of the speakers said at the meet.
Another speaker at the meet said that these days we see how busy these self-seeking glove-puppet people are in showing the pro-side of abrogation of Articles 370, and 35-A, this however has not come as surprise to us, adding, “It is indeed an eye opener for people. These guile, self-seeking and self anointed intermediaries have come out in their true colors. We have however been cautioning people from such string-puppet free floating self styled leaders.”
Commenting on the propping up of different fronts the speakers said that such fronts have traditionally been manned by those elements as have been contemptuous of J&K’s identity. “These self-seeking and glove-puppet leaders lack the mandate to speak on behalf of people of J&K. Their aim and agenda is to strike down J&K’s honor. They are the same people who joined hands with Mufti to add to the despicable designs of Nagpur. Now, these people are again been used by New Delhi for their face saving. These people have been very handy to forces whose sole agenda is to obliterate the very identity of J&K. These have been a pivotal part of center’s use and throw policy in J&K. People are aware of such contemporary Sadiq’s, Bakshi’s. The history is repeating itself. People are conscious of the dubious maneuverings. Modern day Baskhis, Sadiqs, and Muftis have yet again emerged to add colors to the designs of those inimical to J&K’s interests,” the speakers said.
The NC spokesperson said that the participation of workers, functionaries on various party programmes since August 5 reiterates the fact that National Conference will continue to thrive in spite of the roadblocks. “People across J&K irrespective of their regional, religious affiliations are all out for NC,” they said adding, “Our future course of action will be decided once our leadership is out of jail. No individual is authorized to speak on policy matters.”
During the meet, a resolution seeking the release of all political, trade union leaders, civil society activists was unanimously passed.
Among others, Dr Muhammad Shafi, Meraj Ud Din Baba, Abdul Ahad Dar, Muhammad Ashraf, Mushtaq Ahmad, Khalid Rathore, Dr Syed G N Tailbali, Qasisar Jalali, Muhammad Shafi Shaheen were present in the meet.
