ZPL trophy unveiled, organizers hold rally

The grand road-show and the trophy unveiling ceremony of the 3rd edition of Zabarwan Premier League (ZPL) T20 Cricket Tournament designed along the lines of Indian Premier League was held on Sunday at Nishaat.
The rally which started from Zabarwan Park was flagged off by the state’s star cricketer Samiullah Beigh who was also the Chief Guest on the occasion.
More than 30 participants on cycles and bikes took part in the rally who paddled through Chashma Shahi and culminated at Nishaat.
Moreover, the glittering trophy encrusted with rubies and sapphires of blue and white was jointly unveiled by guests, organizing and managing committee of ZPL.
Chairman of ZPL, Manzoor Ahmad told Rising Kashmir that it is a momentous day for all of them to unveil the trophy of ZPL.
“I am sure that ZPL will stand as a symbol of aspiration for aspiring cricketers,” he said.
He said that ZPL has always remained a crowd puller.
ZPL spokesperson Javed Ahmad said that the aim of organizing the event was to involve youth in sports activities.
“To set the tone of the tournament it was essential to make our presence felt. We always make sure to throw some surprises for the people before actual action begins,” he said.
Meanwhile, the rally and trophy unveiling ceremony was held amidst musical and dance performance which gathered the attention of the huge crowd.
He further said that the third edition of ZPL will be bigger and better compared to previous editions.
“From the very beginning we had this idea to make our own identity and leave our mark and we have always concentrated to retain the quality of cricket,” he adds.
He said that the members of ZPL get overwhelmed support and response from people and owners.
Almost 16 franchisees had registered for the 3rd season of ZPL and over 400 players will likely go under the hammer on 21 March, 2018.
Javed further said that they got a huge response from franchisees.
Samiuallah Beigh who will tie up his pads to play in the 3rd edition of ZPL told Rising Kashmir that it will be a great opportunity for youngsters to rub shoulders with experienced cricketers.
‘Through ZPL, local players will also get chance to play along with the valleys Ranji players that will nourish and boost their skills and experience.”
