The Jammu and Kashmir Police in Baramulla successfully rescued a foreign tourist who became lost while skiing in the Khar Nallah forests of Drung.

The tourist, Oeyvind Aamot of Norway, had arrived in the morning at Gulmarg and went skiing, but on his return, he lost his track and became stuck in the forest.

A top police official in Baramulla said that in response, two rescue teams were formed, one by the Police Station Gulmarg and the other by the Tourism Department.

"The teams followed two tracks around the forest area and ultimately located the missing skier," the police official said.

"He was safely rescued and brought back to Gulmarg."

The foreign tourist expressed his gratitude to the Baramulla police for their timely assistance.

Meanwhile SSP Baramulla, Sh. Amod Ashok Nagpure-IPS, also praised the rescue teams and announced a cash reward in their favour.
