SMVDU scholar delivers talk on Android malware at Kazakhstan university

Jammu, Feb 23: Monika Sharma, a research scholar at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, delivered an insightful lecture on her research topic 'Android Malware Detection' at Eurasian National University in Kazakhstan. 
Ranked 227th in the world, the university provided an excellent platform for Sharma to discuss different Android malware attacks that occurred over the past year, including how the Covid-19 pandemic provided an opportunity for hackers to attack Android smartphones.
During her lecture, Sharma discussed various malware detection techniques, including static analysis, dynamic analysis, and hybrid analysis, as well as machine learning methods for Android malware detection. Her talk included an overview of different machine learning techniques, including supervised and unsupervised methodologies, and Android malware classification and detection algorithms.
The students at Eurasian National University showed great enthusiasm for the topic, reflecting the relevance and importance of the research in today's digital age. 
Sharma's expertise and knowledge, gained during her pursuit of a Ph.D. under the guidance of Dr. Ajay Kaul, an Associate Professor at SMVDU, is a testament to the quality of research being conducted at the university. Overall, Ms. Sharma's lecture was an excellent learning experience for the students, providing them with valuable insights into the field of Android malware detection.
