Panic gripped in Ganapora village of Kralgund, in north Kashmir’s Handwara town after firing sounds were heard in the area, official said on Sunday.

As per the local residents, "some gunshots were heard in the locality this evening."

A police officer told Rising Kashmir, "Sounds were heard in the area, and the area was immediately cordoned off."

The officer said searches in the area are going on.
