Budgam-boy Parveez wins Jammu Duathlon 70.3

Srinagar, Oct 31: 17-year-old Budgam- boy Parveez cruised to victory in the Jammu DUATHLON 70.3 (Cycling and Running) held from Shiva Farm to AIMS Jammu.
As per the officials, the event was flagged off by Jammu Hills Sports Club officials at 6.30 from Shiv Farm while covering a distance of 40 km in Cycling and 10 km Running and was completed in 2 hours and 16 minutes and culminated at AIMS Jammu.
Hailing from Kadipora village in central Kashmir's district Budgam. Paveez is currently a 10th class student in Safvi Memorial School Mirgund and has been into professional cycling for the past two years.
A total of around 150 athletes including five athletes from Kashmir division participated in this event which included Er. Mushtaq Ahmad, Riyaz Ahmad Wani, Zulfikar Ahmad, Umer, Parveez Ahmad.
Parveez started cycling casually in his childhood and later developed passion for it.
Since then he has been achieving milestones one after another by proving his mettle in several district level championships including recently held pedal for peace.
"I have also bagged a gold medal in the State (UT) level championship held last year," said Young lad Parveez.
He is now best in cycling and running and has won different races in different events in the past.
"I am happy after winning the Duathlon and I am working very hard. I am planning to compete in the national arena," he said. The event was organised by Jammu Hills Sports Club.
