Ganderbal, Dec 08: In the wake of yet another devastating road accident on Zojila Pass, District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir Singh, led a comprehensive review of the current state of Zojila Road. 

The Deputy Commissioner, joined by SDPO Kangan, SDM Kgn, Tehsildar Gund, SHO Sonamarg, BDO Gund, and OC Beacon, expressed deep sorrow over the recent incident that claimed the lives of five individuals, including two brothers from the Sanko area of Kargil district.

Highlighting the alarming spike in accidents over the past week, which resulted in the tragic deaths of ten people, including four Kerala tourists and local drivers, Singh emphasized the importance of adhering to speed advisories. He stressed that drivers must maintain a speed compatible with safety guidelines to mitigate the risk of accidents on the perilous Zojila Pass.

The authorities are now working to enhance safety measures on the Zojila Road, recognizing the urgent need to address the increasing frequency of accidents in the region.
