SRINAGAR: The Director of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has announced winter vacations for the schools up to the higher secondary level of the winter zone of Jammu in a phase-wise manner.

In an official order, Director of School Education Kashmir, Ashok Kumar Sharma, said that the winter vacations up to the 8th standard will begin from December 11, 2023, to February 29, 2024. However, from classes class 9 to 12, vacations will be observed from December 18, 2023, to February 29, 2024.

"The chief educational officers shall ensure online classes for 10th and 12th standards through CRC's," the order said.

It further said that the teaching staff shall report back to their respective schools on February 21, 2024, so that they remain available to make arrangements regarding the preparation of the ensuing examinations," the order said.

"All teachers shall remain available on demand for any online guidance of students during the vacation period," the order reads. 

“It said that any default on the part of the head of the school or teaching staff in observance of the above schedule shall attract strict action under the rules," the order said.
