Kulgam, Nov 08: Education Department of Kulgam organized a one-day district-level exposure visit for Children with Special Needs (CWSNs) in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha J&K on Wednesday.
The tour was flagged off by the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kulgam, Mustaq Ahmad Qadri.
An official said that the children visited various places such as the Banihal railway station, the Tunnel, and Verinag.
A total of 50 Children with Special Needs (CWSNs) were accompanied by 12 teachers on the trip.
Qadri said that the children with special abilities are being focused on to be integrated into the mainstream. “The government is actively working towards this goal. We have an inclusive education motto for them, wherein we teach them alongside regular children.”
The Education Department and SSA supported this exposure tour for these students.
"We are taking them to historic and tourist places for exposure, and this is the government's initiative to step in for such children. Today, we are taking these children to some tourist and historically significant places in Kulgam and elsewhere," he said.
He further added that the aim is to boost confidence among them and provide them with an opportunity to learn about the culture and other aspects unique to Jammu & Kashmir.
