Bali, June 07: The International Wushu Federation (IWUF) recently organized a highly anticipated International Judges Training and Certification Course from 31st May to 6th June 2023 in Bali, Indonesia. The course saw the participation of nearly 235 judges from 35 countries, including 18 technical officials from the Wushu Association of India. The event focused on upgrading participants with new rules and techniques to be implemented in future Wushu events.
During the course, esteemed National Chief Coach of India, Kuldeep Handoo, who is a Dronacharya Awardee, successfully renewed his "A" Grade judges license. Handoo demonstrated exceptional skills and achieved high scores in both the technical and written evaluations. As a seasoned judge, Handoo had already obtained the prestigious "A" Grade judge status at the IWUF in 2016 in Wudang, China.
The training course was meticulously managed, providing a comprehensive overview of the latest rules and regulations to be implemented in upcoming Wushu competitions. The newfound knowledge gained from the course is expected to significantly benefit Indian athletes, particularly those from UT Jammu and Kashmir, in future events.
Expressing his gratitude, Kuldeep Handoo extended his heartfelt thanks to the Wushu Association of India, the Sports Authority of India, and the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council for their unwavering support throughout his journey as an IWUF judge. Handoo acknowledged that the collaborative efforts of these organizations played a pivotal role in his success.
As the first session of the training course came to a close, the focus now shifts to the second session, set to commence in Egypt on 8th June. With the positive feedback and success of the Bali course, the IWUF is confident in the continued growth and development of the international Wushu community.
Numerous dignitaries and officials from the Wushu Association of Jammu and Kashmir, including President Vijay Saraf, Senior Vice President Sh. Ranjeet Kalra, Vice Presidents Manish Gupta, Ravi Gupta, Sohit Sharma, and Sunil Sharma, extended their warmest congratulations to Kuldeep Handoo for his exceptional achievement in renewing his "A" Grade judges license.
