Manjit pays tributes to martyred army soldier

Jammu, Mar 31: Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu and former minister, S. Manjit Singh on Sunday paid tributes to martyr Indian Army soldier, Vipan Kumar at his native village Radwan in Ramgarh in Vijaypur, District Samba.
A function was organised at the village Radwan to observe the martyrdom of Vipan Kumar who laid down his life while fighting terrorists during the Raghunath Temple terror attack in Jammu’s famous temple in which the soldier had gunned down the terrorists in 2002.
During the function, the participants, prominent people, ex-PRIs, and others paid floral tributes at the statue of the martyr, and they remembered.
Manjit Singh was accompanied by the District President, Legal Cell, Samba, Adv Sahil Bharti, the party said in a statement.
After paying his tributes to the martyr, the former minister said that the people should not leave the families of the martyrs alone because they give their lives for the country and for defending her borders. Therefore, it becomes the duty of fellow countrymen to remember the martyrs every year and they shall be proud of the soldiers in the defence forces, he said
Singh said the martyrs and their families both play an important role in protecting the borders of the country. “The passionate patriotic border residents defend borders in J&K and on the other hand, their sons defend Indian borders in other parts of the country. Hence, we are proud of them,” he added.
