Budgam, Nov 09: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday said that they have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession in the Rasoo area in Central Kashmir's Budgam district.

A Police official told the Rising Kashmir that the Police Station Beerwahhace received an information through reliable sources that one drug peddler resident of Rasoo Budgam have dumped Charas like substance in roof top of his residential house. 

"A Special police team led by SHO Beerwah headed by SDPO Magam reached the specific spot and recovered 1.2Kgs of charas like substance in powder form and 3 sticks of contraband substance wrapped in Corn cob leaves (weighing about 90 grams) from the house," official said 

He said that the accused person identified as Mohammad Rafiq Dar son of Sonaullah Dar resident of Rusoo Budgam was arrested on the spot and was shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

In this regard, a Case FIR No 137/2023 under relevant Sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Beerwah and investigation has been taken up.
