Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday have recovered illicit timber in Zandfaran Sheeri area of North Kashmir's Baramulla district and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime.

A Police spokesperson said, Acting on a reliable information, police recovered 4 logs of illicit timber (Deodar) from vehicle bearing registration number JK05G-9381, driven by Nazir Ahmad Malik son of Mohd Ramzan resident of Kitchama Baramulla. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has been seized besides, accused person has been arrested and shifted to Police Station Sheeri where he remains in custody.

"Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 24/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Sheeri & investigation has been initiated", he said.
