"Say No to Corruption-Commit to the Nation"

ACB Doda in collaboration with Govt. Degree (PG) College Bhaderwah organizes Awareness Program

In a resounding call to action against corruption and a commitment to the nation's welfare, ACB Doda in collaboration with Govt. Degree (PG) College Bhaderwah hosted a comprehensive anti-corruption program, titled "Say No to Corruption - Commit to the Nation" as a part of the celebration of vigilance awareness week (30-10-2023 to 05-11-2023). The event was aimed to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of corruption and encourage active participation in the fight against this menace. The program commenced with an impactful inauguration ceremony under the patronage of College Principal Dr. Kuldeep Kumar Sharma attended by Sh. Sagar Singh DySP ACB Inspector Sh. Yog Raj Singh, Inspector Sh. Rajinder Sharma, college officials, faculty members including Prof. N. K. Manhas, Prof. S. S. Parihar, Prof. Mohd Yaseen Sirwal, Prof. Pinki Kotwal, Prof. Arjun Kotwal, Dr. Ravinder Singh, Prof. Younis Rasheed, Prof. Vijay Kumar and others, College students and representatives from local civil societies.


Inspector Yog Raj welcomed the gathering and presided over the program, in his opening address, he stressed the critical role of educational institutions to be played in shaping the values and ethics of the future generation. He emphasized that "Say No to Corruption - Commit to the Nation" is not just a slogan but a collective call to eradicate corruption and uphold integrity for the betterment of the country. The day-long event featured a diverse range of activities designed to engage, inform, and inspire students. Expert-led panel discussions and Interactive sessions tackled various aspects of corruption, its consequences, and the importance of ethical values. Legal experts, and seasoned professionals shared their insights, urging students to actively participate in discussions and fostering a dynamic and thought-provoking atmosphere.


The resource person, Insp. Rajinder Sharma highlighted all the legal information and other impacts of corruption through the ppt. slide presentation. He encouraged the students to increase their morale against corruption and Develop a Corruption-free society in the Nation. Inspector Sharma also shared his experiences and insights into fostering a culture of ethics and integrity in the corporate society. They underscored the advantages of ethical practices, including building trust among stakeholders and ensuring long-term business sustainability, encouraging students to carry these principles into their future professional careers. The volunteer lecture pertaining to the title was delivered by Prof. Pinki Kotwal, Department of Physics, she emphasized about the corruption system at basic level and how students can play a key role in mitigating this curse from our beloved nation.


To engage the students further, a seminar was conducted to involve the direct participation of students to excel in their knowledge of recognizing and combating corrupt practices. These interactive sessions empowered students with the tools to get knowledge about corruption in different forms and inspired them to become vigilant citizens in their daily lives. In addition to theoretical discussions, the program provided practical guidance on steps that students can take to promote transparency and accountability in their daily lives. Information pamphlets and brochures were distributed, outlining reporting mechanisms and helplines available for reporting corrupt practices and unethical behaviour. These resources empowered students with the knowledge and resources to be active participants in the fight against corruption. Throughout the program, a recurring theme was the interconnectedness of educational institutions, the corporate sector, and society as a whole.

All these sectors play a crucial role in shaping the nation's ethical fabric, and the event emphasized the importance of a collaborative effort to eliminate corruption and promote vigilance. The presiding chair in his closing remarks, reiterated the institution's commitment to nurturing socially responsible and ethically aware individuals who will be the driving force for positive change in society. The "Say No to Corruption - Commit to the Nation" campaign culminated in a candlelight vigil, symbolizing the collective commitment of the participants to remain vigilant against corruption and unethical practices. The event served not only as a day of education but also as a powerful call to action, reminding everyone present of their responsibility to promote ethics, integrity, and vigilance in all aspects of life.


Prior to this awareness program a pledge was taken by the Principal, teaching, non-teaching faculty and Students of the campus on 30th of October 2023 regarding No to Corruption and Strengthening of Nation.
The event will be proved as an extraordinary success, serving as a potent platform to promote ethical values and integrity among its student body. The event brought together students, faculty, and staff, uniting them in their dedication to combat corruption and upholding the principles of vigilance and accountability. The program culminated with the word of thanks proposed by Inspector Yog Raj.
