SKUAST-K Chief Scientist receives prestigious 2023 IPI-FAI Award

Recognition will invigorate me and my colleagues: Prof Tasneem Mubarak

Kulgam, Dec 08: Professor Tasneem Mubarak, Chief Scientist at MRCFC-SKUAST Kashmir, has been honoured with the prestigious 2023 International Potash Institute and Fertiliser Association of India (IPI-FAI) award. 
The recognition was presented by Dr Mansuk Mandaviya, Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers and Health and Family Welfare of the Government of India during the inaugural ceremony of the three-day FAI Annual Seminar in New Delhi. 
Professor Tasneem, currently stationed at the Mountain Research Centre for Field Crops SKUAST Kashmir in Khudwani, Kulgam, expressed delight at being acknowledged on such a grand stage.
“This kind of recognition, I believe, will invigorate me and my colleagues at MRCFC, driving us to work with renewed energy and ambition,” Professor said.
The event witnessed the distribution of various awards by the Union Minister to companies, scientists, and individuals for their excellence in production, environmental performance, safety, marketing, and the promotion of micronutrients, and bio-fertilisers, among other areas. The accolades recognized contributions to research and development aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity.
Professor Tasneem was conferred the IPI-FAI Award for Promoting Balanced and Integrated Fertilizer Use, with a focus on Potassium. This prestigious award, endowed with Rs 2,00,000, a Gold Medal, and a certificate, is instituted by the International Potash Institute (IPI), Zug, Switzerland, and administered by The Fertiliser Association of India, New Delhi.
He said the seminar was attended by more than 1600 national and international delegates from across the world. 
The award acknowledges and encourages exceptional research and extension work by scientists and extension specialists, emphasizing the promotion of balanced and integrated fertilizer usage, particularly focusing on potassium.
