This radio station, exclusively dedicated to the farming community , aims to bridge the gap between farmers and essential information and technology.
Makdhoomi emphasised the pivotal role of Krishi Radio in facilitating the timely dissemination of crucial agricultural information, covering sectors such as horticulture, sericulture, fisheries, animal husbandry, sheep husbandry, and forestry.
Notably, the accessibility of radio, coupled with its FM frequency, enhances its appeal, enabling farmers to carry this medium with them to their fields.
"Farmers within the range of Krishi Radio 89. 6 FM will benefit significantly from its offerings, including timely weather reports, spray schedules, and interim measures to address erratic weather conditions such as rains, hailing, or early snowfall,"  Makdhoomi said.
He highlighted that the radio broadcasts will feature guidance from subject matter specialists at SKUAST-K, covering a wide range of topics relevant to the season's farming activities.
Importantly, these broadcasts will be delivered in both Kashmiri and Urdu languages, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for the local farming community.
Krishi Radio 89.6 FM boasts an aerial range of 20 kilometers and farmers within this range will remain updated with the latest knowledge and technology in the field of agriculture and allied sectors.
