‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ launched in Anantnag to promote sanitation

Anantnag, Sept 30: Director Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Kashmir Riyaz Ahmad Sofi on Saturday inaugurated the ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ campaign in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district to “uphold cleanliness and sanitation”.
Launching the campaign from the Assistant Directorate of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs in Anantnag, the Director said, “It is time to reaffirm ourselves to the cause of keeping our surroundings clean. With the launch of the Swachhata Hi Seva, we rededicate ourselves to the cause of Swachhata.”
During the event, he administered the Swachhta Pledge to the participants, who vowed to contribute towards the cleanliness of the surroundings. They pledged to dedicate their time and efforts towards the noble cause.
Later, the Director led a cleanliness drive along with numerous employees from the Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Anantnag.
“We together ensured that the premises of the Assistant Directorate were spotless,” an official said, adding, “The initiative was not confined to the office alone, as similar cleanliness drives were simultaneously organised in over 500 sales outlets spread across every corner of the district.”
